Tube/Valve Power Supply Unit

Description

For experiments with electron tubes (vacuum tubes, thermionic valves), a power supply unit is required that provides at least the anode voltage and the heating voltage as well as a grid bias voltage. In order to avoid interference to a large extent, switching power supplies were dispensed with and the power supply unit was built up with a transformer and linear regulators. In the current version, the power supply provides the following infinitely variable voltages:

The DC heating voltage is slowly increased by a soft start function.

It is planned to measure and display the currents and the voltages in a second expansion step, as well as to carry out the control with a microprocessor.
